There's a funny story about Chris being paid in guilders which leads to her interest in the Bass Flute. She also describes some of the challenges of the Alto Flute.

In this third conversation with Chris Potter about Low Flutes, she talks about the early orchestral works for low flutes and why these instruments were popular in film scores. Chris notes highlights of the first International Low Flutes Festival which she organized in 2018. She discusses the basis for the popularity of flute choirs and talks about her interest in arranging music for flute choirs.

With this fourth conversation, Chris displays her instruments, comparing sizes of the different flutes. She reveals the purpose of the unusual Eb flute and notes the challenges of the popular piccolo.
In this video we hear a performance of Grace Asquith's Blue from Spectrum which uses four different flutes. After the performance, Chris talks about the colors and timbres of the combinations which the various flutes give this piece.

In this fifth Low Flutes conversation with Chris Potter, we learn some of Chris' considerations for arranging Sitt's Album Leaves Op. 39, Movement III for Alto Flute from the original viola part. She discusses solutions for finding places to breathe, and ideas for fine-tuning the balance of instruments when taking into account the soft tone of the Alto Flute. Chris comments on vocal pieces transferring to the Alto Flute repertoire, while Grace shares ideas on the technique of adjusting the rhythm, taking out notes, or even adding notes for the piano part to complement the Alto Flute.
A full performance of the Sitt Album Leaves, Op. 39 Movement III - Allegro appears in the middle of this video, with the excerpts from Movement VI - Allegro, molto vivace, in the opening and closing credits.

During this sixth and final Low Flutes Conversation, Chris talks about the register considerations and how she adjusted sequential passages to fit the Bass Flute. She also discusses the timbres of the different registers of the Bass Flute and how some musical characters can benefit from those tonal colors.
